Monday has arrived. After a weekend away from the page, settling back into the routine of writing is a difficult task. The route back to that inner world, the writer’s life, the life of the imagination, is so fraught with distractions it can sometimes be difficult to traverse.
Finding your rhythm
Read your writing out loud. By listening to your sentences, you will begin to hear the rhythm of your voice. Is it a lullaby? A symphony? A concerto?
New year, new muse and new resolution
Welcome to 2015! And with the new year, I welcome a new muse and a new resolution to be more focused on my writing and photography.
Titles and taglines
The aim with my title “How to communicate”, is to reach out to others who are interested in exploring how to communicate effectively with each other. My tagline, “Read Write Engage” is apt for the exercise we’re engaging in. Blogging101 is about reading, writing and engaging with each other.
Introductions, hello’s and why I’m here
Introductions and hello! Blogging101 is my new muse – it’s my inspiration, motivation to stay on the path, create new habits . . .and write!!
Know your purpose
What’s your purpose?
This isn’t a philosophical question about life but a question about authenticity and critical thinking, about reflection and consideration. It’s the question we should ask ourselves before we put pen to paper, before we open our mouths, before we hit the Send button.
Words, sentences, beauty
Words on their own are just, well, words. For them to glow and give meaning, we need sentences. As a writer, I’m always on the look out for the perfect word, always hoping to construct the perfect sentence.
